Monday, January 1, 2024: Registration Opens
Go online to www.printcompetition.com and reserve your 6 or more entries before prices go up on January 30th. Entry fee per image is $20 between January 1st - January 30th (11:59PMEST). Entry fee per image goes up to $30 between January 31st - February 26th.
Wednesday, January 3: ICC Recap
Join our Image Competition Committee goes over the rules and guidelines for this year's VPPA Image Competition over ZOOM. A registration link for this online event is coming out soon!
Monday, February 26: Final Deadline for Image Submissions
No need to title or retouch any entry just yet. All we just need to know is how many entries you are entering. You have until February 26th to make any changes to all your images and titles before they are judged.
12 days of VPPA Annual Image Competition
In the past few days, you should've received a daily VPPA email called the "12 days of VPPA Annual Image Competition" that highlights each of the 12 elements of judging a merit image, as well as tips and suggestions for this year's Image Competition. Check it out in your inbox, and add VPPA to your safe sender contact list so you don't miss a thing!

Thursday, January 18 at 7:00PM: "Preparing to Photograph the Eclipse " with Buck Buckwalter & Dan Emmerman
This is an online Zoom event and one you won't want to miss! As a panel format, Buck and Dan will give some helpful tips about capturing these celestial phenomenas, like where to point your gear and eyes during an eclipse with out damaging it, and some other DIY solutions so you can go out and have fun!
Monday, February 19: "Best Practices to Photograph Brown Bears in Alaska" by Charles Shinner
Based upon Charles’ boots on the ground experience, he will share in a virtual presentation online the best practices to photograph brown bears in Alaska.

VPPA PhotoConnect Annual Convention
Everyone, please mark your calendars for our upcoming VPPA PhotoConnect Annual Convention at the Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center starting on Friday, March 22nd through the weekend in Glen Allen and finishing up on Monday, March 24th with an extra day for pay workshop with Sandra Pearce. Her post-con class Painting with Photoshop will also count towards PPA CEU’s. In fact the weekend convention count towards your PPA CEU’s! Our speaker line up for the weekend includes:
