A message from our Seminar Chairman in Hokie Orange :)

To all members:

I just want to take a moment to thank EVERYONE who came out to Lynchburg to make the Seminar a success! As much as Irene tried to rain on our parade, your resolve to "go on with the show" was stronger. With nearly 60 participants we even raised a little money instead of going in the hole. To all of our members who could not make it due to Irene or other conflicts, you were constantly in our thoughts and we felt your spirit there! Hopefully, everyone will get their power back and everything will get back to normal soon.
Special thanks goes to Bobby Carlson for his help with the speakers, Stephanie Garr-Adams and her husband Issac who helped so much at registration, Charles Hartman for all of his incredible AV work and his "no worries" attitude (I really needed that this weekend!), all of our speakers....Jeanette Burkle (who also sat on the print critique panel), Karen Goforth from PPNC, Robert Harris (who was barely able to get out on Saturday and still did not have power at home as of yesterday!) Pat Hansen, Jim Carpenter and Bruce Muncy for help with the print critique, and Bry Cox  from Utah for his incredible creativity program (and great humor....he even recorded the sound of cicadas outside the hotel Sunday night!), Jack Henley for help with props and supplying a model, Margie Hatcher for all the wonderful food and drinks in the Hospitality Suite. Don Aittama for taking pictures at the event, Kevin Hurley for help selling the Convention 2012 T-shirts (very cool design!) David Lee Michaels for all of his help with email blasts, the 5 new members who signed up during the seminar, and especially Lisa Carter for her advice, support, and listening to me when I needed an ear.....I simply could not have done this without ALL of YOU!

Sincerely,
Joe Parker, Northern District Governor, Seminar Chairman

P.S. To Polly Frye, your pep talk about driving all the way to the Chamberlain Hotel in the 60's during a big snowstorm was key in helping me decide about going on with the seminar......Thanks to you too!
