Edward Haynes
Edward Haynes, graduated from Appalachian State University in 1972 and went on to have a diverse career path. After completing his education, he worked as a high school algebra teacher for seven years, during which he also voluntarily worked with the marching band, despite not being musically inclined.
In 1979, he made a career change and began working in management for a large brewery. He remained in this high-pressure supervisory role for 37 years before retiring. Following retirement, he decided to pursue his passion for photography and aimed to create impactful photos. With the encouragement of his cousin, Lisa Carter, he joined professional photography associations such as VPPA, PPNC, and PPA, and became involved in print competitions.
Ed has found the most enjoyment in photography when he can give impactful photos to deserving people when they least expected it. Recently, he spent three days taking emotional photos of veterans and loved ones searching for names on the Moving Vietnam Wall, which was brought to Kernersville, North Carolina, by the Kernersville VFW. These photos are available on his website.
Ed has found a fulfilling and meaningful way to spend his retirement years through photography to pursue his passion and use his skills to make an impact in people's lives.
