Creating Compelling Marketing Material
When it comes to marketing your business, it's essential to capture your potential clients' attention within the first few seconds. Whether it's your website, social media posts, email marketing, business cards, or elevator pitch, these three questions must be answered clearly and succinctly:
- What do you offer? Your potential clients should immediately understand the products or services you provide. Be concise and highlight the key benefits or unique features that set you apart from the competition. Clearly state what you offer in a compelling way that grabs their attention.
- How will it make my life better? Your marketing material should address the core needs and desires of your target audience. Explain how your offerings can improve their lives, solve their problems, or fulfill their desires. Paint a vivid picture of the positive impact your products or services can have on their lives.
- What do I need to do to buy it? Make the process of purchasing as clear and straightforward as possible. Provide a clear call-to-action that directs potential clients on how to proceed. Whether it's visiting your website, contacting you directly, or making a purchase online, guide them through the next steps to become a customer.
Remember to incorporate these answers into every piece of marketing you create. Consistency across all platforms and mediums will help reinforce your brand message and make it easier for potential clients to understand and engage with your business.
A great resource for more information about this technique is Donald Miller’s “Building A Story Brand” book. If you haven’t read it – run, don’t walk to your nearest book store or Amazon or Google Books, and order it today. It’s an easy read, very clear, and will give you the advantage you need in your online marketing strategy. I highly recommend it.
