John Warters is the President of Photo Reflections Inc., celebrating 42 years in Newport News, VA. He is recognized throughout Virginia as one of the leaders of his profession.
John has been a member of the VPPA for 38 years, and recently became a Life Member. He has served on many committees including the AV Committee, the Renegade committee and the Ethics committee. He has served both as President and Chairman of the Board twice in his years with the Association. He currently serves as Executive Treasurer.
Since joining the VPPA, John has earned the Associate of Photography degree, the Fellow of Photography degree, and the Service of Photography degree. In addition, he has been awarded the Certified Professional Photographer degree, the Master of Photography degree and the Photographic Craftsman degree from the Professional Photographers of America. John has also received the Virginia Award, the SEPPA Award and the National Award for service to the photographic community. Along with those, John has earned four Kodak Gallery Awards and in 1995 was awarded the Kodak Gallery “Elite” (the first photographer in the state to ever receive it.) This “Elite” honor is presented to the top four prints out of twenty thousand images entered throughout the nation.
John and his wife Liz, have been married for 33 years. They have 3 children, Ali, Sid, and Harry. John and Liz currently live in Newport News and spend their free time traveling.
